Birthworker Training + Mentorship Program

Safe & Sacred Care, in partnership with A Queen Empowering Queenz Inc., presents an immersive doula training program designed to prepare compassionate, confident and culturally responsive birthworkers.

This program combines hands-on doula education, practical skills, professional development, business preparation and continued mentorship. Participants will receive the foundational knowledge and support needed to begin serving pregnant, birthing and postpartum families in their communities.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• The role, responsibilities, ethics and scope of practice of a doula• Prenatal, labor, birth and postpartum support• Labor positioning, movement and comfort techniques• Supporting informed consent, patient rights and self-advocacy• Communication with families and healthcare professionals• Trauma-informed and culturally responsive support• Lactation and early infant-feeding education• Maternal mental health awareness and community resources• Documentation, client intake and professional boundaries• Business development, marketing and career readiness• Insurance and Ohio Medicaid provider-readiness information• Ohio Medicaid managed care organization credentialing and contracting guidance• Preparation for working with private-pay and Medicaid-supported families

YOUR ENROLLMENT INCLUDES

• 40 hours of interactive, in-person training• Hands-on practice and realistic birth-support scenarios• Six months of continued mentorship• Assistance with the State of Ohio Certified Doula application process• Guidance with Medicaid enrollment and MCO credentialing• Membership in our birthworker collective• Access to our annual birthworker wellness retreat• Information about potential employment or independent-contractor opportunities with Safe & Sacred Care

TUITION AND SCHOLARSHIP

Regular Course Tuition: $2,500

A Queen Empowering Queenz Inc. is providing a $500 scholarship discount for the founding cohort, reducing tuition to $2,000.

One selected eligible applicant will receive a full-tuition scholarship. Scholarship selection is subject to the academy’s application and review process.

This product listing is for the $2,000 pay-in-full enrollment option. Available checkout and financing options may vary according to the payment provider’s approval and eligibility requirements.

IMPORTANT ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

An application must be completed and accepted before enrollment is finalized. Please do not purchase tuition unless you have been accepted into the program or instructed to complete payment by an authorized academy representative.

Enrollment is a firm commitment to attend and participate in the complete program. Participants must attend all eight in-person sessions and complete all required assignments, activities and program requirements to receive a Safe & Sacred Maternal Health Academy certificate of completion. A certificate will not be issued for partial attendance or incomplete program requirements.

REFUND POLICY

All application fees, deposits, tuition payments and other program payments are final, nonrefundable and nontransferable. No refund will be issued if a participant withdraws, misses a session, is dismissed, fails to attend or does not complete the program.

CERTIFICATION AND EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

Completion of this training does not automatically grant State of Ohio Certified Doula status. Certification is issued solely by the Ohio Board of Nursing and requires a separate application, documentation and approval process.

Medicaid enrollment and MCO credentialing also require separate applications and approvals and are not guaranteed.
